Data Settings - 4G SIMs

When you initially activate your 4G SIM, you will need to manually enter the data settings if your plan has a data allowance.  

The guide below shows how to do this for iOS and Android devices.

iOS Devices

Navigate to:

Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data Options -> Mobile Data Network

(The exact location of this setting may vary per device and software version: Refer to the device literature for details if you are unable to locate it)

APN settings should be configured as follows:

• APN: globaldata
• Username: leave blank
• Password: leave blank

Take special attention to populate these fields EXACTLY as shown above.

Here is a list of additional iOS Network Settings which should be confirmed as part of the configuration process:

• Mobile data should be enabled
• Enable 4G should be set to voice & data
• Data roaming should be enabled
• Network selection should show Mobile-X

Please ensure that your device is rebooted once these changes have been made. 

Other Important Notes:
The location where the APN settings are changed/modified may depend on the exact model/manufacturer and software version of the phone and this may also change over time. Refer to literature for that specific handset/version for direction.

Android Devices

Navigate to:
Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
or
Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
(The exact location of this setting may vary per device and software version: Refer to the device literature for details if you are unable to locate it)

Under Access point names (for all Android devices), Select the menu button (three dot icon) and select New APN

When prompted enter:

• Name: globaldata
• APN: globaldata
• Username: Leave blank

Password: Leave blank

Take special attention to populate these fields EXACTLY as shown above.

Select the menu button (three dot icon) and select Save

Here is a list of additional Android Network Settings which should be confirmed as part of the configuration process:

• Mobile Data should be enabled
• Roaming should be disabled
• Preferred network type should be set to: 4G or LTE (recommended)
• Automatic Network Selection should be enabled

Although not always required a restart of the device is recommended after making all noted changes and additions.
