Conferencing allows more than two parties to partake in any particular call. With Deskphone you can conference in one of two ways depending on the number of parties that you need to connect simultaneously to a call.
Simple conference:: This type of conference is for connecting one additional phone to your call and involves connecting with one user, placing them on hold then connecting a third party.
This works as follows:
X calls Y -> X puts Y on hold -> X calls Z -> X then merges the two calls forming a conference call containing X, Y & Z.
We have a number phone specific guides on how to perform a simple conference listed below;
- Yealink T19p
- Cisco SPA504G
Conference Bridge:: This is a more advanced form of conferencing that can in theory have up to 250 simultaneous connections. It involves creating a specific service extension to act as a dedicated conference 'Room' or bridge. The bridge has a dedicated Direct Dial number and extension short-code meaning users can dial into this conference bridge either remotely or on platform. Please click here for more information about using your conference bridge. If you do not currently have a conference bridge on your system please email support@desk-phone.com.
